Participation of the Director of the Deposit Guarantee Fund in the International Conference in Russia

Hermine Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, participated from January 31 to February 2, 2025, at the invitation of the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency in the international conference titled “Road to Success – 20 Years of the +Russian Deposit Insurance System.”

During the conference, thematic reports were presented, along with five panel discussions. H. Harutyunyan participated in the fourth panel, titled “Harmonization of Depositor Protection Mechanisms in the EAEU and Other International Integration Groups.” Panel participants also included representatives from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Serbia.

On the eve of the conference, a regular session of the Expert Working Group on Deposit Insurance of EAEU Member States and a session of the Council of Heads of Deposit Insurance Organizations of EAEU Member States were held. The latter was chaired by Andrey Melnikov, Director of the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency. Reports were presented by the representative of the EAEU Commission’s Financial Department and the head of the working group established to develop IT solutions.

At the proposal of the Director of the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency, the responsibilities of Chair of the Council of Heads of Deposit Insurance Organizations of EAEU Member States were transferred to H. Harutyunyan, in her capacity as the head of Armenia’s deposit insurance organization.
